Welcome to the Frozen Ring Drift Challenge 2024!
This annual event brings together pro-drifting drivers from around the world in the stunning landscapes of Finnish Lapland, specifically in Saariselkä from March 21st to 24th. Located nearly 300km north of the Arctic Circle, our event promises an unforgettable experience, featuring ice karting competitions and a weekend filled with adrenaline-pumping activities amidst the national scenery. Additionally, the weekend includes snowmobiling in the breathtaking Lapland landscapes.
Every year, we construct a separate drifting section specifically for this event, with preparations starting months in advance. Judging the competition are professionals within the sport, who evaluate the drivers’ performances, and the winner is determined by the points accumulated.
Participation in the competition requires a personal invitation, and this year, we’ve invited 32 top drivers from around the world, including Pro Drifting drivers, NASCAR and Snowcross drivers, and representatives from other racing categories. Each invited driver represents the pinnacle of their respective fields, with participants traveling from as far as Argentina and the USA.
Drifting is currently enjoying immense popularity worldwide, as evidenced by last year’s Driftmasters European Championship finale held in Poland, which drew an audience of 55,000. The Saariselkä event offers many drivers an excellent opportunity to unwind before the busy competition season begins.
We invite you to come and support your favourites in person! While seating in grandstands is primarily reserved for our partners, there are viewing spots along the track for approximately 300 spectators. Hot beverages and snacks are available on-site, and Rotorway helicopter services also offer aerial experiences for the audience.
For those arriving by car, please pay attention to the parking locations to ensure smooth movement and remember to keep our environment clean by taking your trash with you when leaving the area.
The idea of organizing this event originated from the Frozen Ring Ice Karting track operators, who have been supporting Finnish drivers and observed the growing popularity of drifting. Together with other local entrepreneurs and our international partners, we make this unique event possible, and we extend our gratitude to all involved.
